Transportation
Brest is easily accessible, especially from the UK English Channel shores. But even if you don’t find yourself near the English Channel you still have a range of transportation means to get to Brest.
Get in
Brest is served by a regional airport, located to the north-east of the city. It’s used mainly by Air France for its domestic routes (Paris-CDG, Paris-Orly, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice), but also by Ryanair (London-Stansted, Dublin), Flybe (Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester, Southampton), and other companies for regular routes (Bordeaux, Toulouse, Toulon, Cork) or special services. For getting to or from Brest, a bus shuttle service connects the airport to the town and the train station 9 times/day. It costs €4,6 (return : €8,4) and takes about 25 minutes.
Brittany Ferries operates a daily route between Plymouth and Roscoff (about 55 km from Brest).
The SNCF provides TGV route from Paris (8/day) and regional trains routes from Rennes or Quimper.
Brest is linked with Rennes (N12) and Nantes (N165) by toll-free divided highways.
