City Areas

Brest is separated in 5 districts, each offering its own attractions. Although the city was mostly destroyed in World War II, due to the several billion dollars paid by the German government after the war, Brest has once again become a jewel on the coast of Brittany.

 

Districts

Bellevue

Bellevue is a modern district, bringing together since July 2002 the Traon-Quizac and Lanrédec districts. Economic activities and higher formation give it an atypical profile.

 

Rive Droite

With some 40000 inhabitants, covering several different areas the Rive Droite sector is more akin to a city than a quarter.

 

Lambezellec

The great Lambezellec does not constitute at all a territorial ensemble, but appears more like the addition of marked neighborhoods.

 

Saint-Marc

The district of Saint-Marc is now composed of three entities: the seafront with a concentration of economic activities, the residential area and a pericentral area.

 

Town Center

The city centre, its facilities and services is an attractive place, convergence for the whole metropolitan area where you can eat, take a walk, but it is also a place where people live.

 

European District

The European district, created in 2001, is a very diversified area with micro-neighborhoods, many green spaces, a high concentration of industrial and economic activities and a very dynamic social life.
